Manufacturing/Engineering Teacher

Term of Employment: Balance of Contract; January-June 30th, 2012
Salary Range: Annual Starting placement $41,600 DOE (note: this contract will be prorated)

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Prepare curriculum and instruction for the Manufacturing/Engineering program.
• Coordinate work based learning activities for students enrolled in the program.
• Provide constant supervision of students enrolled in the Central Site Manufacturing/Engineering program.
• Have thorough knowledge of Pima County JTED policies that pertain to instruction, student discipline, etc.
• Be responsible for attendance, instruction, supervision, and grading of students, as well as maintain good communication with the central campus lead teacher and registrar.
• Serve as advisor of the SkillsUSA CTSO, involving students in activities at the local, state, and national levels.
• Maintain the physical facility including: equipment and supplies.
• Report to the Director of Central Campuses.
• Provide input to the JTED administration regarding calendar and attendance issues.
• Submit reports as requested, including grades, attendance, behavior, etc.
• Participate in the Pima County JTED Precision Manufacturing Advisory Committee.

Minimum Requirements:
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Career & Technical Education: Industrial Technology teaching certificate (provisional or standard)
• Experience in Precision Manufacturing/Engineering including: welding, CNC machining, or engineering required.
• Thorough knowledge and application of secondary curriculum and instruction in career and technical education preferred.

Screening will be done on January 27, 2012.
