Guest Teacher/Substitute

In order to substitute teach with Pima County Joint Technical Education District, we require that applicants abide by the following requirements:

Must be certified to substitute teach in Arizona (either a regular teaching certificate or a substitute certificate).

The certificate must be registered in Pima County, Office of the Superintendent of Schools,
130 W. Congress, Tucson, AZ 85701

A substitute certificate can be obtained if you have a college degree in any area and approval by the certification office.

In addition to these requirements, other certification/license or experience may be required depending on the program.

Complete the application; attach a copy of the appropriate certification along with the following items:

• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or MMR Immunization Verification
• Negative TB Skin test (within last six months)
• Three professional reference Letters

Pima County JTED will provide an orientation during the school year.

Pay for substitute teaching is $85.00 per day. Substitute assignments (not in same position).
Pay for assignments of four hours or less is $45.00.
After 20 days in the same assignment the rate is $120.00 per day.
